Conditions of Use
Access to and space made available on university
Web server(s) is a privilege provided for the specific purposes
stated under Rights and Responsibilities, above. Individuals are
prohibited from deploying material on these Web sites or participating
in any behavior that can reasonably be interpreted as contrary
in spirit or substance to this allowed use. Specific conditions
of use for these student Web pages include, but are not limited
to, the following:

Unless officially sanctioned by the university, content posted
to a Web site containing, either explicitly or implicitly, the
name of the university or any of its parts must explicitly state
that the opinions expressed are not necessarily those of the
institution, its student body, faculty or administration. This
statement must appear in a reasonably prominent position on
the Web page.

Quinnipiac University is not responsible for the loss of
any data, files or other content posted to a university- supported
Web site.

Quinnipiac University reserves the right to examine any and
all data, files and content posted or stored on, or to suspend
or cancel a student or faculty member's access to any university
Web site or computer server for any reason without prior notice.

The following acts relating to use of Web resources are specifically
prohibited:

Posting of content or material to these Web pages on behalf
of any third party. These Web sites are not intended for the
support of university activities or for use by or support of
individuals or groups outside of the university.

Unauthorized use, or attempted unauthorized use, of the university
or other computing facilities' computer systems, computer software,
data files, computer networks and/or Internet resources, or
the intentional disruption or obstruction of legitimate access
and use of the same by third parties.

Theft of or tampering with computer files belonging to others.
- Posting of material on the Web site in violation of any university
policies or codes or in violation of federal, state or local laws,
including copyright laws.
- Posting of material on or other use of the Web site that can
reasonably be considered to constitute sexual harassment or racial
discrimination, or that is calculated to cause severe humiliation
or intimidation of an individual or groups of individuals.
- Use of these Web pages for personal or commercial profit or
purposes unrelated to activities which support the mission of
the university.
- Posting of material or other conduct that adversely affects
the university community's pursuit of its educational objectives.
- Making a claim or implication that material or content posted
to the Web site in any way represents official university information
or opinion except as has been officially sanctioned by the university.
- Unauthorized use of the Quinnipiac University name or any related
abbreviations, symbols, emblems, logos, mascots, slogans, and
other terminology or mark associated with the university.

Violations of any of these Conditions of Use may result in
the loss of computing privileges, legal action, and/or disciplinary
proceedings that may lead to suspension, expulsion or termination
of employment from the university.

Academic misconduct by a student in use of university Web
resources is referred to the dean of the student's college or
school, as well as to the Academic Integrity Review Board

Each Quinnipiac student is provided with access
to university Web resources:
Responsibilities
- In utilizing a university sponsored Web site, the student is
responsible for adhering to all rules and mandates outlined under
the Conditions of Use section, below. Questions regarding suitability
of content for posting to a student Web site should be directed
to the appropriate school dean or his/her designee. Violations
of this policy should be reported to the vice president &
dean of students.
- Web page creators are responsible for ensuring that content
placed on university web pages is professional in nature and not
personal except to the extent appropriate in an academic or career
context.
- Web page creators are responsible for ensuring that content
placed on university computers and servers is accurate and updated
regularly
Faculty
Use of University Web Resources Policy
Rights
Each Quinnipiac University
faculty member is provided with equal access to university Web resources
for the purposes of:
- Facilitating the
course and classroom related educational process. Blackboard and
other appropriate tools are provided and supported for these purposes,
and
- Aiding in their ongoing
professional communications and development. Creation of a professional
(not personal) Web site to promote communication with students
and colleagues is accommodated. Templates and other appropriate
tools are provided and supported for these purposes.
Original material placed
on a faculty member's professional Web pages or distributed through
course Web resources is the property of the creator of this work
unless otherwise established under applicable law.
Responsibilities

sponsored Web site, the faculty member is responsible for adhering
to all rules and mandates outlined under the Conditions of Use
section, below. Questions regarding the suitability of content
for posting to a faculty Web site should be directed to the appropriate
school dean. Violations of this policy should be reported to the
senior vice president for academic affairs.

are responsible for ensuring that content placed on university
Web pages is professional in nature and not personal except to
the extent appropriate in a professional context.
- Web page creators
are responsible for ensuring that content placed on university
computers and servers is accurate and updated regularly.
