My name is Gabe Walerysiak, and I love all things tech.
I graduated from Quinnipiac University in May 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in Film, Television and Media Arts and a minor in Mathematics.
I have lived most of my life in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. There’s not really much to do around there, so I spent a lot of my time playing video games, particularly Mario Kart. I thought I was so good at the game that I wanted to share my talent with the world by creating a YouTube channel and uploading videos onto it. This is where my passion for filming and editing videos began, and five years later I got accepted into Quinnipiac University’s School of Communications program with film knowledge I have only taught myself.
Over the summer of 2019, I completed a video production internship for a startup company called Fitscript, a digital therapeutic fitness program for those with Type-2 Diabetes. I set up the studio for filming and photography shoots, I handled the camera during livestream events, and I edited promo videos that were later posted on Instagram and Facebook.
During my third year at Quinnipiac University, I joined my senior project group as the Director of Photography for our short film Til Death. I made the best decision of my life when I chose to use the RED Scarlett-W camera with a 5K Dragon sensor. I finally got to play with a high-end professional studio digital camera and being able to teach myself its UI, functions and capabilities was one of the most rewarding experiences I could ever ask for.
Besides filmmaking, a few other things I enjoy doing with my time include photography, running and exercising, playing video games, learning about and getting my hands on new tech, and hanging out with my family.
