Interactive narrative can be thought of as a story that is told in one of a number of possible ways to interpret and present data. Novels, movies, paintings, and music encompass this idea and there are many paths or thinking processes that are involved with them. The creator of the interactive narrative has to present all of the forking paths within the work by offering perspective and an ample amount of information.

A music composition is a great way to understand the concept of interactive narrative. When you listen to a song what do you hear? Whether the answer is, drums, guitar, piano, or any other instrument, people will give you a variety of answers.

Be as it may, when listening to a song, indeed, all of the instruments are playing different parts throughout the song. On top of that, each instrument has its own part (melody, harmony, bass) that when played in unison with the rest of the instruments, the piece comes alive as a beautiful composition.

The musician that tells one part of the whole composition plays his or her piece of music, and as a result, is just one possible way a listener could hear or interpret the song.
