Stampede was to be the second album by Buffalo Springfield but it was never released. An album cover was even made. On the sleeve Palmer is seen with his head down. This is because it was not him. Palmer was deported on drug charges to Canada and was not able to make the cover shoot. One great track that was never released while the group was together is Down to the Wire, a great rocker with heavy fuzz guitar. If anyone knows what kind of distortion pannels/fuzz box that young or stills used during the Springfield years please email me. Down to the Wire would later be released in 1977 on Neil Young Decade. Although this album was never made all of the tracks would be released in 2001 in the Buffalo Springfield box set.
