The Chemistry Project

Testers name:
1. Did you make it through to the end of the story? Did you pass the class or fail?
2. Did you know who the main character was?
3. What reaction did you end up going with?
4. Did you feel enticed to see the different endings?
5. Did you understand what was happening in the story the whole time?
6. Did the art and color scheme match the story well?
7. Would you like the story to be longer?
After asking 6 people the questions found below, I found a few things that could be improved within my final, as well as a few things that I did well. Starting with the first question, everyone managed to make it through the story to an ending, which lets me know that all of my buttons worked and made sense. However, one thing that a few people had trouble with was remembering who the main character was. I'm not sure if this was due to him not appearing every picture, or if they just didn't read all of the text, but I feel like I could have made his presence increase so people know that Beaker is the main character. Everyone who I asked managed to make it to the final reactions, which most of them ended up going to Iron Oxide with Aluminum. This could have been due to the clues I put in the story to what would lead to the best grade, or if they just picked iron and then the first option. I could try to switch around the buttons and rooms to see if they still get the best reaction, or if it was just chance. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, most of the testers did not try to see the other endings, but they did say that they were interested in seeing more of the story, and would like it to be more fleshed out. I did manage to create a cohesive story that the testers were able to follow and understand, but personally I feel like I could have done better at making a few things clear. The Usability testers thought that the art and color scheme worked very well with the topic and that they liked the background art, since it was simple but noticeable. One thing that I would like to change if Iw ere to continue with this project would be to make the buttons into images that portray each of different options, just to give the project a little it of extra flair. One thing that came up was the lack of music, and I could see how it might be appealing, I felt like any music I tried just didn't work well with the project.
