The country road spills forth ahead of you, a small dirty thing, not even paved. You start to get lost in your thoughts, having been driving for hours and hours. You're almost there as you begin to recollect why you're driving through a rural area, so far from the cities that you've called home.
You've recently inherited a farm from your grandfather- he used to run it when you were a kid. More recently, he had someone to help him with managing it, but they both passed away in the fire. Of the survivors, two decided to stay to help you get the farm up and running again.
These two farmhands are Tom and Julia. They're good people, but a bit battered from the losses of the fire. Morale is pretty low, and you have no idea what you're doing. But something inside of you stirs. You're going to work as hard as you can, in your grandfather's memory.
You have a lot to do- your inheritance is barely enough to cover the cost of new seeds and animals, after you've spent most of it on repairing the fire damage to the farmhouse and barn.
From the pictures, you can tell that the buildings, vaguely memorable from when you visited when you were much younger, were burnt to a crisp. The newer pictures show promise, as the farmhouse was brought into the modern era, and given some insulation and amenities like heated, running water, and electricity- a far cry from the ancient familial ancestral home you remember.
