Physical Education is the academic part of the Quinnipiac Recreation program. It offers classes which are designed to teach lifetime skills activities which will provide health and exercise benefits throughout one's life.
Credit:
1. Each class is valued at one academic, elective credit.
2. Students may take up to 6 elective credits of Physical Education.
Duration:
1. Most classes meet throughout the semester once a week for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
2. Several classes are offered twice a week for seven weeks.
3. Four or five advanced/intensified activity classes are conducted during a single weekend -15 hours of intense instruction during a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Cost:
1. There is no charge for the course credit if a student is taking less than 16 credits and is a full-time student.
2. A lab fee is charged for some of the off-campus classes.
3. A $660 per credit charge will be assessed if a student is taking 16 or more credits or is not a full-time student.
Off-Campus Classes:
Several classes are offered at off-campus facilities. Transportation is arranged to those classes.
Registration:
1. Students register for physical education classes during the University registration process.
2. Waiting lists for "closed" [full] classes are kept by the Director, Linda Wooster. She will notify those on the list if an opening occurs.
