Student Awards in Psychology

Mitchell Berkun Prize in Psychology

Each Spring, the student majoring in psychology who shows the most promise in research is given this award.  This is determined by examining final grades for courses in our Methods Sequence (PS 307 and PS 308).  The award goes to the student with the highest grades in both.  It honors the founder of the Psychology Department, Professor Mitchell Berkun. Professor Berkun was responsible for establishing the Psychology Lab in Tator Hall 215.  This award is conferred during Psychology’s Annual Senior Luncheon.

Barry Fritz Award in Psychology

This prize is given each Spring to a senior in psychology who has completed an independent study project that is both creative and valuable.  These two qualities marked Professor Barry Fritz’ research, in whose honor this award was established.  The project must be completed by the Fall of the senior year to be considered, but could also be completed in previous years.  This award is conferred during Psychology’s Annual Senior Luncheon.

R. Gordon Pauluccy Graduation Prize in Psychology

The Pauluccy family established this endowed fund for an award to be made annually to the senior majoring in psychology who has the highest overall grade point average.  This award is conferred in the Spring during the Quinnipiac University Senior Awards Ceremony.
